Is it hard to get a mortgage self-employed?

Getting a mortgage can seem more difficult if you’re self-employed, but as long as your income is declared and provable, it shouldn't be impossible. Some mortgage lenders are cautious about lending money to people with a ‘non-standard’ income, but with a modest deposit, combined with a good credit score, and a couple of years of self-employed accounts, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get a mortgage.
